'A' Interleague has been moved to Sunday 24th February at the Alma. The ladies interleague has been cancelled.  The league will be making a first by fielding TWO teams from the West and east halves of the league. 'B' interleague Sat 13th April at the Alma. Kent knock outs day at the Alma on Sunday 14th April. Finals Night will be on Tuesday 14th May and Presentation Night will be on Friday 21st June, both at the Alma. National Pairs at the Queens, Bournemouth on Sat/Sun March 9th/10th. Details from Chris Saville.

Jersey 2002; At the De Normandie, St Helier, on Sat/Sun 9th/10th November. Prices will be 23 a night half board (sharing). There is an offer of one night being being charged at only 10 for those who book early before 28th February. I will be booking flights later, but expect to pay around 65, so get your 30 deposits to me and I will do the rest.

Winter League Summary; The Alma 'A' retained their championship in the face of fierce competition from the Chantry 'B' and 'A' who came second and third. Division 2 went to the Greyhound 'B' who pipped Fitzwalter Arms at the death. Greyhound 'A' are relegated from the first division. Chris Saville was undefeated in 14 singles games in division 1, setting a new record of 25 consecutive Winter League singles victories. Derek Latham was undefeated in 9 singles games in division 2, though he was pipped by Simon Jones in the rankings as the highest ranked player. Highest break in division 1 is held by Tim Hayes with 10890 and Simon Jones in division 2 with 13080. Top lady in Division 1 was Lin Callanan, Ann Keen was top in Division 2


Third Round Knock Outs;  The Div 1,  Div 2, Over 50's singles and Men's Pairs have been drawn, don't miss out.

Magnet and Oak & Ivy; The Oak is closed for the foreseeable future and the teams will be forming a new 'B' team at the Brickmakers. The Magnet will hopefully have new tenants in about a week, Cliff & Laura having left. The pub will remain closed until then.

Skittle Tattle;

Congratulations to Sheila and David Howarth; Thomas David Howarth was born the the happy couple on Sunday 13th January. Mother and baby are well and recovering in hospital following a difficult birth. We wish the new addition to the Derby County Football Supporters club well (that makes two members). At least the lad will be able to say he was born when Derby were still a premiership team!

Alan Farra; has gained permission from She Who Must Be Obeyed to join the annual excursion to Jersey!

100 Reward for new Ideas!; The Natioanal Association are offering a 100 reward for the best new idea for an exciting game of Bar Billiards (clean, so strip bar billiards not allowed). The winning idea will be demonstrated at the national Pairs at Bournemouth in March. Ideas to By March 1st To Dave Barnes 4 Harris Rd. Upper Heyford, Nr. Bicester Oxon OX25 5TR. They are currently using our triangles for alternate rules, but want other ideas. (Let Chris know as well)
