Kent knock outs day at the Alma on Sunday 16th March. Finals Night will be on Tuesday 29th April and Presentation Night will be on Friday 20th June  at the Alma. Details from Chris Saville. Captains make sure your players know these dates, every year someone complains they didn't know.

Spring Cup: Spring Cup fixtures are enclosed, fixtures start on Tuesday 28th January.

Knock-Outs The preliminary round for the Challenge Cup, quarter final draws for the Open Singles, Over 50's, Men's Pairs and the semi final of the Mixed Pairs are out. dates to be submitted by Thursday January 30th, matches to be played by Sunday 16th February, All other competitions have been held over.

Greyhound are Moving; The teams have decided to move over the road to the Market Inn with immediate effect, following Ned and Jane's decision to end their spell as landlords of the Greyhound.

End of Company Sponsorship; Leisure Link (was Bar Billiards Kent) stopped sponsoring this league a couple of years ago despite an agreement with the old Bar Billiards Kent Company. I am sad to report that Bar Billiards Ltd are stopping all County level sponsorship which will affect the Inter Leagues and will be restricting local league sponsorship to those leagues who solely use their tables. This means that we will face a bill of 150 for Finals Night tables after this year as we have two Leisure Link and an Ivor Thomas table  the league. This is further bad news with the continued contraction of the game nationally. This will have a major impact on league finances as the Interleagues and Finals Night have been major contributors to league finances for a number of years.

The good news for next year  is that Wack Sampson has offered to underwrite the cost of the tables for 2004. We are deeply grateful for this offer. You might also express your gratitude when you see him.

England Representation: Following the failure of the England team to beat the Channel Islands in the annual Off-The-Spot challenge for the last four years (where have we heard that before???) The selectors have opted for one or two of the more 'seasoned' players in the country. Chris Saville has been recalled to the squad and will be travelling out to Jersey in two weeks time as first reserve for the team.

B' Interleague;  We hope to be able to field two sides, but this may be difficult as the main side was based on the now defunct Chantry 'B'. We will be picking a side on merit, but would also like to field a side of less experienced players.  If you are interested then let Chris or Craig know ASAP.

'A' Interleague; Our teams came first and second last year and we will be defending the title at the Alma on Sunday 16th February 1130hrs registration, why not come along and support?

Ladies Day; There will be an Interleague friendly against Medway on Saturday 15th February, registrations 1130hrs. We hope to enter two teams of five.

KBBA Inter Area; The equivalent of 'Super League', we have not entered for the last few years. If you are interested in playing half a dozen games around Kent in a five-a-side team, probably on Thursday evenings,  then let Chris or Craig know ASAP.

Skittle Tattle;

More Musical Billiards: Steve Philpott left the Magnet for his first away fixture at the Fitz. Not being sure of the way he called in at the Royal Oak Nonington (allegedly) to ask . They (allegedly) directed him on to the Griffins Head Chillenden. Steve arrived there safely and was directed on to the Fitz where he arrived nearly an hour late. Sounds like a good excuse for a pub crawl to me!!

And Finally Yuk!!!; A group of us were in the Magnet on Christmas Eve enjoying the 'Floor Show'. Chris Gent (A.K.A. 'The Lesser Spotted Builder' at Sav's place) felt the need to show us a sample of his chest hairs (groan, but don't ask me why). He went to put them in the ash tray and dropped the lot in Paul Callanan's beer (puke). It was revolting!!!
